As a Gen X educator who started my career in the mid-90's, I saw this happening and thought, "This is going to be interesting." It seemed like older (90's-era) Millennials grew up getting told they deserved to have whatever they wanted and be whatever they wanted -- sometimes regardless of effort or talent. They weren't always prepared well to have personal agency if a path wasn't laid out for them, or to have resilience if things didn't go the way they wanted and there wasn't a helicopter parent above them to swoop down and fix it for them.
