As fires ravage California and hurricanes take out Florida, I can't help but wonder how things might have been different if the election hadn't been stolen from Al Gore. Al Gore understood the risks of climate change and might have helped our country take steps to mitigate its worst effects. Instead, we got W. Bush, who defanged CAFE standards for fuel efficiency for cars and trucks, rolled back regulations on the gas and oil industry, and started two multi-trillion dollar forever wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that burned more fossil fuels than everything else combined -- over 20 years.
