"Both sides" is a logical fallacy. Trump voters base their identity on denying other people equal rights -- or even the right to exist. Trump and his followers are narcissists who like to project their own issues onto everyone else. With them, every accusation is a confession. So when they accuse "the libs" (a non-existent group they use as a straw man) of "identity politics," it's a tell that they're actually relying on identity politics.
