In my experience as a woman, more men are all convinced they should be dating supermodels. There is a whole industry set up around selling this myth to men -- see Playboy, Maxim, and pretty much every movie starring male alumni from SNL that have the goofy, normal-looking guy scoring the hot chick. Then men only want to date women who look like models and they get angry when these women -- who have a lot of choices and who often get used to using men -- turn them down or treat them badly. A lot of men might have happier and more successful dating lives if they actually dated women in their own league. But that would take getting real and getting over their own egos, and also looking at women as people and selecting dates on more than looks and availability -- and not all men are ready to do that work.
