True! And I know that much, but it doesn't help when you say Bonjour or Merci, and then the French person tries to strike a conversation, thinking you know the language, and then you say you can't speak French, and then they're more offended 😂

I like Paris, but I don't think this even helps there. I went with a woman (Canadian born Chinese) that spoke fluent French (Canada, eh?) and she would speak in French and they would reply (rudely) in horrible English. As if their shitty English was better than her fluent (albeit textbook style) French.
